WILD AND ROMANTIC FLORALS, FOR A WHIMSICAL, AUTUMNAL WEDDING AT THE BYRE AT INCHYRA

Nastassia & James’s beautiful autumn wedding at The Byre at Inchyra was like something

out of a fairytale.

It was filled with Scottish grown flowers to create a dark but romantic feel at their gorgeous

venue. Such a creative brief and right up my street!

Nastassia is a writer, so books featured a lot in setting the scene for the wedding.

The ceremony backdrop was made by her dad and I adorned it with lots of textural, wild and

seasonal foliage and flowers to create a dreamy Beauty and the Beast vibe.

DARK, ROMANTIC AND WHIMSICAL FEEL WITH RICH, VELVETY SHADES OF RUST,

BURGUNDY, AND DUSKY PINK.

I used locally grown roses, dahlia, cosmos, sedum, amaranthus, and bracken - to name but a

few! Being in early September, it was perfectly timed to have the very best of the autumnal

flowers of the season available – September flowers, you have my heart!

BUTTONHOLES WITH RICH BERRY SCABIOUS, APRICOT STATICE AND GOLDEN BRACKEN, TIED WITH VELVET RIBBON

For the groom James and his groomsmen, I used a selection of flowers from the bridal

arrangements including sedum, dried bunny tails and ivy foliage which stood out perfectly

against their dark tweed jackets.

NATURAL AND WILD, BOUQUETS, FILLED WITH SEASONALLY GROWN SCOTTISH FLOWERS

Nastassia’s beautiful bouquet was filled with Scottish grown flowers including dahlia, rose

and cosmos. To complement the dark and whimsical feel I added shiny blue viburnum

berries and eryngium from the Dutch market.

The bridesmaids bouquets were a smaller, relaxed hand tied arrangement which

complemented their deep red dresses perfectly.

BRINGING THE OUTSIDE IN TO DRESS THE BANQUETTING TABLES

At the reception, I went for an undone garland for the banqueting tables. Nastassia and

James wanted it to look as natural and rustic as possible, as if it was growing there.

I used moss with lots of locally grown foliage including western hemlock, beech, and

bracken.

There were stacks of books, candles and bud vases of flowers dotted along the tables to add

some height and colour.

I had so much fun with this one!
